As the first leading city to industrialise in the world, Manchester can lay claim to being the home of the industrial revolution. It has also been home to many famous men and women and a large range of political and social movements which has sought to promote peace, social justice and human rights.

Manchester is a truly international and cosmopolitan city, maintaining its leading role against injustice and for peace for the good of itself and the wider world.

To mark this history, various landmarks/significant sites are identified in the city centre and recorded onto a map to form a Peace & Social Justice Trail
